March 28th Canvass in Wisconsin
Time & Location
About the Event
We will be heading to the Milwaukee area. There we will knock on doors and have conversations with Wisconsin voters about the critically important upcoming State Supreme Court seat. We will be departing from Chicago at 9:00 am and we will be canvassing from 11am-2pm. The 2020 election is going to hinge on Wisconsin and we need your boots on the ground to help bring home a win.
Never canvassed before? No problem! We will train you and make sure you are paired with another canvasser (if you like) so you don't have to go it alone. We will make every effort to pair you with an experienced canvasser if you like.
We are also offering canvass training. You can find a list of all canvass trainings here.
Don't want to drive? No need! We have carpools leaving from multiple Chicago neighborhoods.
If you'd like to join one of our carpools, please indicate below if you can drive and, if so, how many passengers you can take.
These trips we are making to Wisconsin and Michigan are part of our three state plan to turn the Midwest blue again, and are the single most important thing you can do to win in 2020.
President Obama won Wisconsin in 2008 and 2012. In 2016, Trump won Wisconsin by fewer than 23K votes. All predictive lists concur that Wisconsin, with just 10 electoral votes, could easily be the state that determines the 2020 presidential winner; our boots on the ground are needed to flip it!
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
We'll be working with the Wisconsin Dems, knocking on doors of residents and collecting information:
- Listening to voters about the issues they care about
- Providing information about progressive candidates
- Verifying party identification
- Confirming voters' registration status
Because canvassing works.
- For every 14 people contacted, it means one more vote to defeat Trump*
- In 2016, contacting every nonvoting American could have turned out 6.2 million more voters
Further details about the canvassing will be provided closer to the date.
